Our People
John Gabb
After completing a science degree, majoring in Computer Aided Mapping, John commenced his working life in Canberra in 1982 as a programmer, developing mapping and statistical software. He returned to Melbourne three years later, to join a leading commercial software and systems integration house, Praxa Ltd.
John spent eleven years with Praxa, initially developing technical systems in a variety of roles from Analyst/Programmer, Senior A/P, Project Leader to Project Manager. His last four years at Praxa were spent as a manager responsible for delivering Systems Integration services to Government and commercial customers both in Canberra and Melbourne.
In 1998 John was appointed Director for a major systems upgrade and development program at Tattersall's, a major Lotteries and Gaming organisation. Over five and half years, John was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of business Initiatives requiring improvements to key revenue generating systems and infrastructure and for the direction of the gaming products.
Immediately prior to joining us John was responsibile for Applications Services & Solutions for KAZ in Victoria where he focussed on enhancing the highly respected software development capability with more specialised Applications Integration and System Integration capabilities.
John joined the Thomsett team of consultants in 2004 and has delivered project management educational programmes nationally both publicly and in-house, most recently for Customs and Intrepid Travel.
At the beginning of 2007, Thomsett INTERNATIONAL engaged in an eighteen month contract with FOXTEL to provide Program Management Services - while John is meeting that contract on our behalf he will continue to meet his public workshop committments.
