The Busy Person's Project Management BookIntroductionThis book has been developed for people involved in projects of all types in organisations. Most organisations are undergoing the changes that seem to be coming faster and faster and are looking for projects and project managers to be key change agents. As a rule of thumb, the types of projects we are talking about would involve up to five people working up to three months. Projects larger than this would need to use the same principles but there are additional procedures such as formal risk modelling and project documentation that would be required. Rob covers these in his latest book for not so busy people - Radic Project Management. The purpose of the guide is to present some common-sense techniques that have been shown to help project teams to plan and deliver successful project outcomes. These techniques should be applied in a participative manner with all team members and key people involved in the process. Should you have any feedback on the techniques or should you discover other techniques that help you in planning and managing your project please let us know so we can share them with other project teams. Being involved in projects is one way in which you can be part of redesigning and building an organisation that can meet the challenges of the next decade. Further, being part of a successful project is an interesting and enjoyable experience. We hope that this guide can assist you in achieving successful projects. The Directors |
