The Workshop

The Thomsett International Agile Project Management: MasterClass, presented by Rob Thomsett, is a two-day intensive workshop for experienced project managers. Rob has worked with thought leaders such as Alistair Cockburn, Kent Beck, Jim Highsmith, Sanjev Augustine and CC Pace to develop an approach that reflects the need for agility in project management.

Rob has presented this workshop a number of times in UK, Italy, NZ as well as the US and Australia over the past four years. Rob has also presented the workshop in-house as an on-going part of an organisation's project management curriculum.

In a recent US survey, Robert Charette reported that project managers were struggling to cope with the changing business environment. Challenges facing project managers include:

• lack of budget or time to establish stable processes in highly compressed schedules
• the need for innovative new solutions to business initiatives
• insufficient planning
• redundant work caused by sudden changes in priorities
• too many dependencies with other projects
• competition for resources with other projects
• slow decision making

In this highly-provocative and challenging MasterClass, Agile Project Management will be explored and the workshop will provide a forum for executives and experienced project managers together with their peers to come to grips with the new world of project management. The workshop is presented as a series of tutorials which will be tailored to reflect the participant's knowledge and experience, particularly focussing on those areas in which participants require advanced knowledge or are currently experiencing difficulties This workshop also provides participants with diagnostic models, a full copy of the advanced planning documents and a copy of Rob Thomsett's latest book: Radical Project Management.
